Paintings by Ali Hill that we have in our Queenslander house
The real stuffed aardvark lives in Ali's house next door. It originally belonged to her grandfather. This painting has just been shortlisted for a Aus$15000 prize so we all have our fingers crossed that Ali will win the prize.
Apologies for the poor quality (reflection) photo...another painting by Ali Hill - it has sold but we can enjoy it until the new owners come and pick it up.
Ali was a finalist in the 'Churchie' but she didn't win. However, her Aardvark painting was profiled in the Sunday magazine along with the winner and a couple of runners-up and she has just learnt that the painting has sold ($2800) so she is very pleased! We aren't so pleased because our house is looking bare now that she has taken down all the 'sold' paintings...hoping that she will have finished lots of new pieces by the time we return next year! Well done Ali!!
